Ingredients
- 0.50 oz dried Zobo leaves
- 1/8 cup pineapple chunks
- 1/8 orange, cut into segments
- 1-2 cloves or a pinch of ground cloves (kanafuru)
- Ginger (approximately 1/2 teaspoon, finely chopped)
- Sugar, to taste
- Ice, for serving
Instructions
- Rinse the dried Zobo leaves to remove any dirt or impurities.
- In a pot, combine the Zobo leaves, pineapple, orange, ginger, and cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
- If desired, add sugar or sweetener while the mixture is still hot and stir until dissolved.
- Allow the Zobo mixture to steep for 2-4 hours, depending on your preference.
- Strain the liquid through a fine sieve to remove any sediment.
- Let the Zobo drink cool, then serve chilled over ice. Optionally, garnish with a slice of lemon or lime.
