Ingredients
- 3 cups seedless watermelon chunks
- 1.50 tablespoons lime juice
- 1.50 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1.50 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz fresh orange juice
- Ice
- Lime wedge for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the seedless watermelon into chunks, removing the rind and reserving about 3 cups of the pink flesh.
- Blend the watermelon chunks and lime juice in a blender until smooth and frothy, for approximately 30 seconds.
- Strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing with a spoon to release the juices and discarding the solids.
- To prepare optional salted rims, spread salt on a small plate, run a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, and dip the rim into the salt to coat.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 cup of the watermelon juice, tequila, and orange juice. Add ice, cover, and shake vigorously to mix.
- Fill a glass with ice, strain the cocktail into the glass, and garnish with a lime wedge.
