Tropical Spice Delight
A delightful and refreshing coconut-rum cocktail with hints of cardamom and cinnamon, served in a coconut shell.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup whole green cardamom pods, cracked
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 oz. coconut water
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 oz. frozen coconut pureé
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
- 3 oz. spiced rum, such as Captain Morgan's
Instructions
- To make the syrup, heat cracked cardamom pods in a saucepan until fragrant. Add sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Then, cool and strain the syrup. It can be refrigerated for up to 3 months.
- For the cocktail, blend 1 oz. of the cardamom syrup, coconut water, lime juice, coconut pureé, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Add the spiced rum to the shaker, shake well, and strain the cocktail into a collins glass filled with fresh ice. Alternatively, serve it in a coconut shell for an authentic tropical experience.
