A timeless Mai Tai cocktail with aged Jamaican rum, lime juice, orgeat, and orange curaçao, garnished with mint for a tropical twist.
Ingredients
- 2 oz aged pot still Jamaican rum (Plantation Xaymaca)
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- .75 oz orgeat (Orgeat Works Latitude 29 orgeat or Liber & Co.)
- .5 oz orange curaçao (Pierre Ferrand dry curaçao or Clément Creole Shrubb)
- .25 oz rich simple syrup
- Sprig of mint and spent lime shell for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with pebble ice.
- Add the rum, lime juice, orgeat, orange curaçao, and rich simple syrup to the shaker.
- Shake the ingredients thoroughly for about ten seconds.
- Pour the contents of the shaker, unfiltered, into a double rocks glass.
- Top the drink with more pebble ice.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint and a spent lime shell.
