The Rosy Mint Fizz
A delightful and bubbly cocktail with the aromatic flavors of mint and rose, paired with the zesty kick of gin and lemon, all topped off with sparkling white wine.
Ingredients
- 6 mint leaves
- Petals of 3 unsprayed roses, plus 6 small unsprayed roses to garnish
- 3 oz. gin
- 1/4 cup (2 oz.) lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- 6 oz. sparkling white wine, chilled
- For the rose syrup:
- 3/4 cup (150g) caster sugar
- 1 Tbsp rosewater
Instructions
- Chill a tall glass in the fridge.
- To make the rose syrup, heat sugar and 1/2 cup water in a pan until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in the rosewater. Chill until completely cooled.
- Gently bruise the mint leaves and rose petals, then place them in the chilled glass.
- In two separate batches, combine gin, lemon juice, and rose syrup with plenty of ice in a shaker. Shake well.
- Pour the mixture into the glass and top up with sparkling wine.
- Garnish with a small unsprayed rose, then serve immediately with a straw.
