Tennessee Twisted Tea
This Tennessee-inspired twist on the classic Long Island Iced Tea adds a unique flavor with a mix of rum, vodka, tequila, whiskey, and gin. The addition of sorghum or cane syrup and fresh citrus juices creates a balance of sweetness and tartness, while cola adds a refreshing effervescence to the drink.
Tennessee Twisted Tea
A Tennessee-inspired twist on the classic Long Island Iced Tea with a mix of rum, vodka, tequila, whiskey, gin, sorghum or cane syrup, fresh citrus juices, and cola.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz. rum
- 1 1/2 oz. vodka
- 1 1/2 oz. tequila
- 1 1/2 oz. Tennessee whiskey
- 1 1/2 oz. gin
- 1 oz. sorghum syrup or cane syrup
- 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice (from 1 lime)
- 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
- 1/2 cup cola soft drink
- 1 (3- x 1-in.) lemon peel strip (from 1 lemon)
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, combine rum, vodka, tequila, whiskey, gin, sorghum or cane syrup, lime juice, and lemon juice.
- Add ice to fill the shaker, cover, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until chilled.
- Strain the mixture evenly into a Collins glass filled halfway with ice.
- Divide the cola evenly between the glasses.
- Twist the lemon peel strip over each cocktail and run around the rim of the glass; then add the peel to the cocktail as a garnish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
