Ingredients

  • 1 lime, cut into eight pieces
  • 1 tbsp. light or dark brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 2 sprigs mint
  • 1.50 oz. Bulleit Bourbon

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the lime pieces, brown sugar, salt, basil, and mint to release the aromatics and lime juice.
  2. Add the bourbon and enough ice to fill the shaker.
  3. Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with crushed ice, using a Hawthorne strainer to retain some of the herbs and citrus pulp.
  5. Garnish with lime wedges and sprigs of mint.
