Ingredients
- 1 medium jalapeño, cut lengthwise, seeds removed
- 1 3/4 cups silver tequila
- 1 1/2 oz. jalapeño tequila
- 1 oz. triple sec or orange liqueur
- 1 1/2 oz. lime juice
- 1/2 oz. agave or simple syrup (optional)
- Lime and jalapeño slices, for garnish
Instructions
- To make the jalapeño tequila, place the jalapeño halves and tequila in a pint-sized glass jar.
- Cover and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, remove the jalapeño and any escaped seeds from the tequila.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the jalapeño tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave syrup.
- Shake for 20 to 30 seconds to chill well.
- Strain the mixture into a margarita glass or rocks glass filled with ice.
