Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cranberry cocktail
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and minced
- 1/4 cup frozen or fresh cranberries
- 1 1/2 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 1/2 oz cranberry cocktail
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz orange juice
- 1/2 oz Spiced Cranberry Syrup
- Ice
- Cinnamon stick
- Frozen cranberries
Instructions
- To make the syrup, combine cranberry cocktail, cane sugar, ground cinnamon, fresh ginger, and cranberries in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring often, until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries pop.
- Remove the syrup from the heat, strain it through a fine mesh strainer, and press on the cranberries to extract their juice. Let the syrup cool before refrigerating for up to 2 weeks.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, cranberry cocktail, lemon juice, orange juice, and cranberry syrup. Add plenty of ice, then shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker feels very cold.
- Strain the spiced cranberry orange margarita mix into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a few frozen cranberries.
