Ingredients
- 3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 1/4 oz freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 small jalapeño, deseeded and thinly sliced
- 2 tsp sugar
- Pinch of kosher salt
- 1 oz warm water
- 2 oz club soda
- Ice
Instructions
- Juice limes and oranges into a large pitcher. Discard lime rinds and half of the orange rinds.
- Cut the remaining orange rinds into quarters and place in a large saucepan.
- Coarsely chop the jalapeño and add to the saucepan with the orange rinds, along with sugar and salt. Muddle the mixture until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
- Stir in warm water and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
- Strain the orange mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into the pitcher with juice, gently pressing to extract as much liquid as possible; discard solids.
- Thinly slice the remaining orange and add it to the pitcher. Remove seeds from the remaining jalapeño and thinly slice into rounds before adding to the pitcher.
- To serve, pour the juice mixture into an ice-filled glass and top off with club soda. Stir to combine.
