Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cranberry cocktail
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and minced
- 1/4 cup frozen or fresh cranberries
- 1 1/2 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 1/2 oz cranberry cocktail
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz orange juice
- 1/2 oz Spiced Cranberry Syrup
- ice
- cinnamon sticks
- frozen cranberries
Instructions
- Start by making the spiced cranberry syrup. In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry cocktail, cane sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and cranberries. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the cranberries are popping.
- Remove the syrup from the heat and strain it through a fine mesh strainer, pressing on the cranberries to extract their juice. Let the syrup cool before refrigerating.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, Cointreau, cranberry cocktail, lemon juice, orange juice, and cranberry syrup. Add plenty of ice and shake vigorously until well chilled.
- Strain the margarita into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and a few frozen cranberries.
