Zac Overman's Padang Swizzle cocktail recipe takes the traditional tiki flavors and adds a European twist. The combination of amontillado sherry, aged rum, Islay Scotch, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and cinnamon syrup creates a unique and flavorful cocktail that is perfect for any occasion.
Smoky Sherry Swizzle
A unique and flavorful cocktail that combines the traditional tiki flavors with a European twist.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz amontillado sherry (preferably Lustau Los Arcos)
- 1/2 oz aged rum (preferably English Harbour 5 year)
- 1/4 oz Islay Scotch (preferably Laphroaig 10-Year-Old Single Malt)
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz grapefruit juice
- 3/4 oz cinnamon syrup (see Editor's Note)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a pilsner or Collins glass.
- Add crushed ice and swizzle using a swizzle stick or bar spoon.
- Add more crushed ice, and garnish with a smoking cinnamon stick speared through with a lime wheel.
- Carefully light the cinnamon stick using a match or lighter, and extinguish it before sipping your swizzle.
