Ingredients

  • 1 ounce mezcal
  • 1 ounce sweet or semi-sweet red vermouth
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • Ice
  • Orange peel, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail mixing glass, combine the mezcal, sweet vermouth, and Campari.
  2. Add a handful of ice to the mixing glass and stir continuously for 30 seconds.
  3. Fill a lowball or Old Fashioned glass with ice, then strain the drink into the glass.
  4. Use a knife to cut a 1-inch strip of orange peel, squeeze the peel over the drink to release the oils.
  5. Gently rub the orange peel around the glass rim, then place it in the drink to garnish.
