Ingredients
- 1 navel orange, halved
- 3 1/2 tablespoons añejo tequila
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (from about 1/3 of a lime)
- Beechwood Smoked Sea Salt for the glass rim
- 1 lime wheel, grilled for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the orange halves, cut side down, until well charred, for about 5 minutes.
- Allow the oranges to cool for approximately 4 minutes, then squeeze the juice from the oranges and strain, discarding the pulp. You should have about 1/2 cup of juice.
- In a mixing glass, combine the grilled orange juice, tequila, and lime juice.
- Spread Beechwood Smoked Sea Salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of a rocks glass with a lime, then dip the glass into the smoked sea salt.
- Add a big ice cube or several regular ice cubes to the glass.
- Pour the margarita mixture into the glass and garnish with a grilled lime wheel.
