Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz Absinthe (for rinsing)
  • 2 oz Sazerac Rye
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • 3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • 1 lemon peel (used as garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse a rocks glass with the Absinthe, fill it with plenty of ice, and set it aside.
  2. In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the Sazerac Rye, simple syrup, and Peychaud's bitters. Stir until well chilled.
  3. Empty the ice and Absinthe from the rocks glass.
  4. Strain the cocktail from the mixing glass into the prepared rocks glass.
  5. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
