Ingredients

  • 1 organic lemon peel
  • 0.34 fl. oz (10 ml) alcohol 95%
  • 0.40 fl. oz (12 ml) water
  • 0.85 oz (24 g) sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel the yellow part of the lemon skin and remove any white parts.
  2. Place the lemon peel in a jar and add the alcohol. Close the jar and store it in a dark place for 3 days, stirring the peel once a day.
  3. After 3 days, in a pot, heat the water and sugar over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Do not let the solution caramelize.
  4. Strain the lemon infusion and combine the alcohol with the sugar solution at room temperature.
  5. The Limoncello should have a bright yellow color, not be transparent.
  6. Serve the Limoncello neat, cold, or at room temperature.
