Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, separated
  • 1.20 oz dark rum
  • 1.20 oz Bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 1.20 oz VS or VSOP Cognac
  • 1.20 oz heavy cream
  • 0.90 oz dark maple syrup
  • 1/4 of a whole nutmeg seed

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form and set aside.
  2. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the egg yolk, dark rum, Bourbon or rye whiskey, VS or VSOP Cognac, heavy cream, and dark maple syrup until well combined.
  3. Grate the nutmeg into the yolk mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites in 3 separate additions, ensuring thorough mixing after each addition, until the mixture is uniform.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a sealable container and refrigerate for at least 3 hours to chill. Stir thoroughly before serving.
  6. Ladle the spiked egg nog into small cups and garnish with additional grated nutmeg.
