Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Melissa's Jamaica blossoms
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1-2 tablespoons cardamom syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Cardamom syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tablespoon lightly crushed green cardamom pods

Instructions

  1. To prepare the syrup, bring the sugar, water, and cardamom pods to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the syrup to steep for 30 minutes before straining and refrigerating it.
  4. For the hibiscus cooler, steep the hibiscus flowers in hot water for 15 minutes in a large pitcher, then strain and refrigerate until cold.
  5. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of the cardamom syrup into the hibiscus infusion, adjusting the amount to achieve your preferred level of sweetness.
