Ingredients

  • 1 cup grapefruit juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 heaping tablespoon dried lavender flowers
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce grapefruit lavender syrup
  • 4 ounces prosecco
  • 2 dashes orange bitters

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, stir together grapefruit juice, sugar, and dried lavender flowers until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until it reduces considerably.
  3. Remove from heat, allow to cool, and then fine strain. Bottle and refrigerate. The syrup should keep refrigerated for about 2 weeks.
  4. In a mixing glass, combine vodka and grapefruit lavender syrup, and stir to combine.
  5. Fill a glass with crushed ice and pour in about 4 oz of prosecco.
  6. Add the combined vodka and syrup mixture to the glass.
  7. Top off with another small splash of prosecco and add 2 dashes of orange bitters.
  8. Garnish with sliced citrus and fresh thyme.
