Ingredients

  • 2 cups cream
  • 8 oz water
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 oz 55% chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cups 72% chocolate
  • 4 vanilla beans
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 oz whipping cream
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz Angostura
  • 5 oz salted hot chocolate base
  • 3/4 oz Fernet-Branca
  • 1/2 oz green Chartreuse
  • Angostura cream, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, combine the cream and water, and heat over low heat, stirring frequently.
  2. Pour the liquid over the remaining hot chocolate base ingredients, mix well, and chill thoroughly.
  3. In a medium bowl, whip together all the cream ingredients until a loose consistency is achieved.
  4. Heat the prepared hot chocolate base, mix in the Fernet-Branca and green Chartreuse.
  5. Top the cocktail with the whipped cream and serve.
