- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg (packed)
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Whisk the egg yolks in a large bowl until they are light in color.
- Add the sugar and continue whisking until the mixture becomes light, fluffy, and smooth.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and cream, and heat on medium until it just begins to steam.
- Slowly whisk the hot milk into the egg yolks until frothy, then stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Return the mixture to the pot and heat on medium until simmering and thickened, ensuring it does not boil.
