  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, combine milk, nutmeg, and vanilla, and add the cinnamon stick.
  2. Bring the mixture to a low boil for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until the mixture becomes pale in color.
