Ingredients

  • 1.25 oz fresh blackberries
  • 1 tbsp superfine sugar
  • 0.50 oz elderflower liqueur (such as St-Germain)
  • 0.50 oz blanco tequila
  • Ice
  • 6 oz pinot noir
  • 1 oz lemon-flavored soda or blackberry-flavored seltzer (optional)
  • Blackberries, lemon wheel, fresh rosemary sprig for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a glass, muddle the fresh blackberries with the sugar until crushed and juicy.
  2. Add the elderflower liqueur and tequila, then stir until the sugar dissolves, creating a dark syrup.
  3. Fill the glass with ice and pour in the pinot noir.
  4. If desired, strain the blackberry syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into the glass, or pour it directly without straining.
  5. Optionally, top with lemon-flavored soda or blackberry-flavored seltzer to taste.
