Ingredients

  • 2 oz Cynar
  • 1/2 oz chocolate syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • Fee Brothers whiskey barrel-aged bitters
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine sugar and water. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in cocoa powder until fully dissolved. Let the mixture cool, then refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Place the egg in a shaker and use a barspoon or fork to break apart the yolk and the whites.
  4. Add the chocolate syrup and Cynar to the shaker, then fill it with ice.
  5. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  6. Double strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
  7. Top the cocktail with whiskey barrel-aged bitters and serve!
