Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 0.50 oz 60% dark chocolate, chopped
- 0.12 cup granulated sugar
- 0.12 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1.50 oz vodka (vanilla vodka preferred)
- 1.50 oz dark creme de cocoa
- 1.50 oz half and half
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, cocoa powder, chopped chocolate, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and let it cool. This can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
- When ready to serve, fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the vodka, creme de cocoa, half and half, and 2 ounces of the chocolate syrup.
- Shake vigorously, then strain into a cocktail glass.
- Garnish with shaved chocolate curls and a mint sprig, and enjoy!
