Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 1/8 tsp apple pie spice
  • 1/2 oz gold or spiced rum
  • 1 oz boiling apple cider
  • Whipped cream, for serving
  • Ground cinnamon and cinnamon stick, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar and powdered sugar until well blended.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in the softened vanilla ice cream and apple pie spice.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a freezer-safe container, seal, and freeze until solid.
  5. When ready to serve, measure 2 tablespoons of the frozen Hot Buttered Rum Batter and 2 ounces of rum into a glass mug.
  6. Fill the mug with hot apple cider and stir to combine.
  7. Top with whipped cream and garnish with a dash of ground cinnamon and a cinnamon stick.
