Ingredients
- Zest of 1 clementine
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 1/2 vanilla pod, split in half lengthways
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 oz clemencello
- 1/2 oz fresh orange juice
- 1 egg white
- Clementine peel twist, for garnish
- Star anise, for garnish
Instructions
- Place the clementine zest, cinnamon stick, star anise, and vanilla pod in a sealable jar. Add the vodka, seal the jar, and leave to infuse for 5 days, shaking it daily.
- In a pan, boil 1 3/4 cups of water with the sugar until dissolved. Let it cool to room temperature, then pour it into the jar with the infused vodka. Reseal the jar and leave it for 9 days before straining the clemencello into a bottle.
- To prepare the cocktail, combine the clemencello, orange juice, and egg white in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until very cold.
- Strain the mixture into a glass and garnish with a clementine peel twist and star anise.
