Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • A few fresh lemon verbena leaves (optional)
  • Peel from 1/4 orange
  • Peel from 1/4 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange-flower water
  • 3/4 cup ice
  • 1 tablespoon gin
  • 1 tablespoon whipping cream
  • 1/2 large egg white
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Freshly ground nutmeg
  • Fresh lemon verbena sprig (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, mix water, sugar, and lemon verbena leaves. Add orange and lemon peels, then bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for 5 minutes and let it cool. Stir in the orange-flower water and set aside.
  2. In a blender, combine 3 tablespoons of the prepared syrup, ice, gin, cream, egg white, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth and foamy. Pour into a glass.
  3. Repeat the blending process for the remaining ingredients and pour into another glass.
  4. Sprinkle the drinks with freshly ground nutmeg and garnish with a lemon verbena sprig, if desired.
