Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 1/2 oz Mexican cinnamon sticks (about 4 sticks)
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 oz freshly brewed strong coffee, cold
  • 1 1/2 oz Chilean pisco
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Transfer the syrup, including the spices, to a large pitcher. Add the milk, cold coffee, pisco, and vanilla. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or transfer to glass bottles and refrigerate until chilled, for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Pour about 1/2 cup of Chilean Christmas punch into small tumbler glasses and serve very cold with Christmas cookies, stollen, or pan de pascua (Chilean-style fruitcake).
