Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pitted tart cherries
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 oz silver tequila
- 3 oz margarita mix
- Salt, lime wedge, and cherries for garnish
- Ice
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the tart cherries, sugar, and water. Simmer for 20 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Transfer the mixture to a food processor and blend until smooth. Strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing the cherries to extract the liquid.
- Allow the cherry syrup to cool for about 45 minutes before using.
- Rim an 8 oz glass with lime and dip into salt. Add ice to the glass.
- Pour 2 oz tequila, 1 1/2 tablespoons of cherry syrup, and 3 oz margarita mix into the glass. Stir to combine.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and tart cherries.
