Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 0.25 oz absinthe
  • 0.50 oz brown sugar chai syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 dash Peychauds bitters or cardamom bitters
  • Garnish with orange peel
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 chai tea bags

Instructions

  1. Chill a rocks glass in the freezer.
  2. In a mixing glass, combine bourbon, absinthe, brown sugar chai syrup, and bitters.
  3. Add ice to the mixing glass.
  4. Stir the mixture gently to chill and dilute the drink.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the chilled rocks glass.
  6. For the brown sugar chai syrup, boil water and brown sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat, steep chai tea bags for 10 minutes, then remove. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
