Ingredients
- 1.50 oz Caramilk chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 0.18 oz vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp spiced rum
- Ground nutmeg, for garnish
Instructions
- Use a vegetable peeler to create 1 tbsp of Caramilk chocolate shavings. Finely chop the remaining chocolate.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chopped chocolate, cream, and milk. Stir until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, vanilla, and sugar until the mixture becomes pale and thick.
- Gradually whisk in the hot cream mixture. Return the combined mixture to the saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Stir constantly for 8-10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Stir in the spiced rum.
- Pour the mixture into a heatproof serving glass and top with extra cream.
- Sprinkle with the chocolate shavings and a dash of ground nutmeg.
