Ingredients

  • 1 large egg (yolk separated from the white)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/6 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons good quality bourbon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 whole nutmeg (grated)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, beat the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of sugar until thickened.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the egg white with 1/2 tablespoon of sugar until peaks form.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the whipped cream, then fold in the egg white mixture.
  5. Stir in the milk, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, and 2/3 of the freshly ground nutmeg.
  6. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with a small pinch of the remaining ground nutmeg before serving.
