Ingredients

  • 1.20 oz frozen blueberries
  • 2/3 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 oz water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 fresh sage leaves
  • 1.50 oz gin (optional)
  • 2 oz Prosecco (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized pot over medium-high heat, combine frozen blueberries, lemon juice, water, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture comes to a simmer.
  2. Muddle the berries well, then add the sage. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Remove from the stove and let it sit overnight or for several hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Strain the blueberry mixture, pressing down hard on the berries to release their colorful juice.
  5. Place the blueberry sage syrup in a glass beverage container.
  6. Add gin and Prosecco, and garnish with a few sage leaves and lemon slices.
