Ingredients
- 1.50 oz white/silver rum
- 1/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1 oz water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Crushed ice
- Blackberries and mint for garnish
Instructions
- In a small pan, combine blackberries, water, and sugar, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Boil for about 10 minutes until the blackberries are softened and can be easily mashed with the back of a spoon.
- Mash the blackberries and remove from heat, then strain the liquid from the blackberry remnants and set aside to cool.
- Fill a serving glass halfway with crushed ice.
- Pour in the rum, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and cooled blackberry syrup.
- Hold a swizzle stick or cocktail stirrer between your palms and rub your hands in opposite directions to "swizzle" the drink until the glass is frosted.
- Fill the serving glass to the top with more crushed ice and garnish with blackberries and mint before serving.
