Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh apple cider
- 1 tsp packed dark brown sugar
- 1/3 whole nutmeg seed
- 1/6 of a vanilla bean
- 1 oz bourbon
- whipped cream
- Honeyed Walnuts
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, dark brown sugar, nutmeg seed, and vanilla bean.
- Gently simmer the mixture over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the bourbon if desired.
- Remove and discard the solids from the mixture.
- Pour the warm vanilla cider into a mug or heatproof glass.
- Top the drink with a dollop of whipped cream and a few honeyed walnuts.
