An invigorating blend of cold-brew coffee, fernet, amaro, and Scotch infused with orange peel, clove, and cassia, balanced by demerara sugar.
Ingredients
- 1/4 tablespoon demerara sugar
- 1 oz strong cold-brew coffee
- 1 oz fernet (preferably Contratto)
- 3/4 oz amaro (preferably Barolo Chinato)
- 3/4 oz Compass Box Whisky Co. Orangerie or Grand Marnier
- 1 orange twist (for serving)
Instructions
- In a jar, combine the demerara sugar and 1/4 tablespoon of hot water. Cover and shake until the sugar is fully dissolved. Chill the mixture until it's cold.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the cold-brew coffee, fernet, amaro, Scotch, and demerara simple syrup.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
- Strain the cocktail into a coupe glass.
- Garnish with an orange twist and serve.
